Have you ever been under the Irish or Atlantic sea? With beautiful underwater footage and photographs Sally Stewart-Moore, co-coordinator for Seasearch Northern Ireland, and Phil Wilkinson, long-time Seasearch diver and underwater photographer, will demonstrate how the gathering of marine data, images and footage, plays a vital role in local marine conservation.
Seasearch is a citizen science project for volunteer scuba divers and snorkellers who have an interest in what they’re seeing underwater, want to learn more and want to help protect the marine environment around the coast of Northern Ireland. Seasearch divers receive training in identifying and recording local marine species, and in doing so, provide data and imagery that feeds into local marine management and monitoring.
