This Sunday, February 18th, our new resident shipwright, Orlagh Thompson will be on site on Airport rd, Belfast to introduce herself and get us working along side her on Seabird’s hull.
We are planning a series of workshops, beginning with a blacksmithing day in early March to make our own tools for the work we are doing on Seabird. These will be a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, and see and try first hand traditional skills used in boatbuilding for hundreds of years, but rarely seen around the once thriving boat building in Belfast Harbour.
So, come join us this Sunday to hear about our plans with Seabird, participate in her restoration and some all around good craic with the team!
Wear long sleeves, and rough clothing and gloves if you have them. We will supply PPE for any work that requires it (dust masks, goggles).
